Mama Care Monday's: "Detox" for a healthier life

1:31:00 PM

With the growing trend sweeping the nation of being conscious of what you eat, practicing healthier lifestyle choices, cleaner toxin-free habits, detoxing, cleansing, etc.... Just trying to keep up and maintain can be challenging, overwhelming, and sometimes discouraging for individuals who might be interested in changing they way they live, eat, etc.... but may need a simpler point of entry or approach into a new lifestyle. Getting certain treatments can be a great way of starting or rather initiating getting on the road to detoxing and have cleaner insides to balance mental, physical, and emotional well being. Below are a few treatments and DIY  I have personally used, tried, and/or provide as part of the service component of my brand.

Colonics: http://www.doodyfreegirl.com/ are an amazing way to literally have the gunk sucked out of you and can not only eliminate waste but weight too, enabling better clarity, more energy, and overall internal cleansing.

Nutrition or vitamin supplement plan https://rainintl.com/core that is a combination of  certain vitamins and shakes that you take over the course of a period of time, enabling one to have more energy, feel rejuvenated, cleansed, detoxed, and a meal plan designed to give you the best level of nutrition.

Lastly one of my personal favorites are taking detox salt baths. These are great for not only soaking and relaxing but circulation, muscular and joint soothing, cleansing externally, skin tightening, and internally cleansing and detoxing ridding the body of bad food choice poisons, environmental factors etc.... Also great for melting away stress and the constant pressure of back pains and sciatic nerve due to pregnancy and post pregnancy.  Caution: taking hot baths while pregnant can bring on early delivery, so please do not do until at very end of pregnancy and received the advisement from your health care provider. Perfectly fine to do once baby is born and can be extremely helpful in post recovery.

I had the pleasure of giving myself one this past Sunday and the muscular aches and amount of stress I was feeling prior, literally dissolved in the intense bath along with the salt. Soaking and ridding the body of mental, physical, and emotional toxins is a great practice to have and do as an individual especially new or established mom. Great to do when you feel at times things getting overwhelming. Remember mom's, take care of yourself so you have something left to continue to take care of others.

Here is a  DIY detox that you can try at home

- 1/2 cup to a cup of Epsom salt
-10 drops of lavender essential oil
-1/2 cup of baking soda

Put all ingredients into mildly hot bath water or what you can stand. You don't want to burn or scold yourself but you want it hot enough to dissolve the salt and a temperature where it can soothe the skin. Soak for 25 no more than 30 minutes to get benefits. Immediately after, consume lightly chilled (not super cold) or room temperature water. Lay down after, get rest, and wake up feeling brand new!

A lot of these treatments fall under the Women Wellness Services we provide at Myrtle&Flossie www.myrtleandflossie.com. We have a more intense detox bath that we offer among our other wellness services. Myrtle&Flossie is currently competing in a statewide small business grant competition in the hopes of winning a grant to open a physical space so we can continue to provide our quality services and treatments.
