Power Mommy; creating it, having it, and doing it all......

MamaCare Monday

Words can't even explain how elated and full I feel from this past weekend's amazing, motivating and inspirational events.  I had the pleasure to attend "PowerMom" 2017 inaugural summit and awards reception sponsored by Loacker USA.  As stated, it was definitely encouraging to be in a room full of dynamic go-getter women, making an impact and effecting change in the world all while creating and raising babies at the same time.  Creating the "safe" space where working moms, whether from the home or the office have the opportunity to have the conversation being fully vulnerable, its ok to be a woman and fulfill your needs, spend a little time on you, conveying the message of my brand mantra where I sign off after every MCM post......... mamas invest in yourself so you can continue to invest others.  Finally this conversation is being brought to the forefront and saluting mamas wherever they may be in their motherhood journey you don't have to "do it all" but a way to manage and get close to that is by doing what you can and not feeling guilty along the way.  Motherhood vs Womanhood, there is no separation between the two, you are always going to be a woman and you will be a mommy for life so you might as well make the best of it!

The Weekend festivities began Friday evening where there was "meet and greet" networking "powermom" pre-dinner where the attendees could get a chance to get to know one another in a comfortable, relaxed, and intimate setting. Relating to one another as fellow moms, business women, and entrepreneurs. There definitely were some heavy hitters in attendance, one of whom I had the pleasure of meeting; Mindee Doney the mastermind and creator of "Boogie Wipes" the go-to product for runny noses and overflow of mucus for babies and toddlers.  Which by the way I literally used all the time when my daughter was younger, this product totally came in handy, worked amazing, and was available at every major convenient store/pharmacy such as Rite Aid, CVS, and Duane Reade. You might think someone who created such a popular item that made a huge difference in the market would be a bit distant............however that is quite the contrary, she was so down to earth, easy to talk to, very approachable, and has a lot of knowledge and know how about start-up businesses particularly in the Mommy sector. The following evening Saturday, the festivities concluded with the powermom panel discussion /rewards ceremony of momprenuer inventors, activist, and CEO's of major brands and companies once again opening to the space to have that intimate discussion of all the intricate dynamics that make up being Mommy and providing sage advice and support for the continued journey of motherhood.  Remember mamas, you must invest in yourself so that you may continue to invest in others around you, until next Monday........
